ROTT N CHATTER, January 1993, Volume 1 Number 6 NEED A NEW BOOK FOR YOUR LIBRARY? THE ROTTWEILER TODAY by Judy and Larry Elsden, is a great new addition to any Rott N Library. I have just finished reading The Rottweiler Today and though there is no such thing as a perfect breed book, I think this little book does come close. Anyone that wants to learn about our breed should read this book before making a decision to buy their first Rottweiler. The Elsdens do not go into technical detail on feeding, breeding, and training. What they have done is present to any potential newcomer of our breed an overall view of the Rottweiler. I like the book because it does not 'sugarcoat' repsonsibility of Rottweiler ownership, but rather points out the negatives along with the positives. I would recommend this book to anyone that owns or desires to own one of our wonderful dogs. I am currently reading, GOOD OWNERS, GREAT DOGS by Brian Kilcommons. This book was gift from a wonderful friend and so far I have found it an excellent source for training information and guidance from puppyhood to adulthood. I'll let you know more about GOOD OWNERS, GREAT DOGS next month. What books do you like or don't like? Let others know your opinion. That is what this little newlsetter is all about !!
