IT SHOULDN’T HAPPEN TO A DOG ... LET ALONE A VERY SPECIAL LADY & 

20+ RESCUED ROTTWEILERS!”



For those of you that have been reading the Chatter for at least a 

couple of years now, have come to know one very special lady 

involved with rescuing our magnificent Rottweiler breeder.  Her 

name is Beverly Berger and Rottweilers have been the focus of her 

for 10+ years now.  I won't go into what all she has done for and 

with our hand-me-down Rotties, but suffice it to say, few can 

equal her recognition and accomplishments these past years.  What 

I am about to share with you is appalling and I feel it needs to 

be told and not covered up.  The information that follows was 

obtained directly from Bev herself.



Bev moved all of her headquarters a few months ago into a large 

facility with kennels etc. that would adequately house all of her 

rescued Rottweilers until they were spayed-neutered, medically 

cared for and finally placed into permanent loving homes.  She had 

operated out of her own house and back yard for years that was 

oftern tothe overflowing stage.  The aggrement she made (being 

friends - it was verbal) was that she would only move her facility 

if it would be permanent as funds nor practicality would permit 

her to make this transition more than once.  "No problem you can 

use the facility for at least 10 years because I will not be doing 

anything with the property." was the reply from the property  

owner.



That was last year....a month ago Bev was notified that the 

property has decided to lease the kennel facility to

someone else to be used as a profit making boarding kennel for

$900.00 monthly.  (I think the figure is correct).  Bev counter-

offered to pay $1000.00 to be able to remain in the facility so

she could continue her rescue work.  She also reminded the

property owner of their verbal agreement, but it was all to no

avail.  Bev has been told that she must remove all of the

rescued Rottweilers by the 1st of June.  Last week Bev euthanized 

17 healthy, loving Rottweilers because there were no homes for 

them and the deadline is closing fast with no place to go.  She 

informed the property owner that she would like to stay until at 

least the end of June so that she may place as many of the rest as 

possible...at the time of this writing, she was informed a 

resounding "NO".   More Rottweilers will needlessly be put to 

sleep unless there is a flood of folks that are qualified to 

foster or adopt several beautiful Rottweilers immediately!



OH...you want to hear the real “clincher” to this horrendous state 

of affairs?  Not only is the property owner a known Rottweiler 

breeder that has frequented the show rings for years but there is 

a beautiful bitch bred by this person that has been turned over to 

rescue!!!  OKAY...if that isn't enough, here is the icing on the 

cake...according to Bev, when told about the bitch that had been 

turned in, the property owner/breeder stated that they weren't 

really the breeder of the bitch (as stated on the 

registration)...the former leasee of the property bred the bitch 

and used the name on the papers.  (AKC where are you?)  One final 

thing, the property owner proclaims to be Bev’s friend. (how does 

it go	with a friend like this who needs	?)
