PREPAID SPAY/NEUTER STUDY A study which in part in-cluded 567 dogs adopted from an animal control center was performed to determine how many complied with a prepaid spaying/neutering program. Partial conclusions were as follows: 1. Females were adopted more frequently than males. 2. Owners who adopted a female dog suspected to be of mixed breeding were likely to have the dog spayed. 3. owners who adopted a female dog that appeared purebred were le@s likely to have the dog spayed. Isn't it interesting that even though the spay/neu-tering was prepaid many purebred dogs NEVER got the surgery. In light of this I can only say that be sure to use limited registration, spay/neuter contracts or to be 100% sure that the puppy you sold will not be used to reproduce (an unregistered litter) consider spaying or neutering prior to placement. (see report on study of early spay/neutering else-where in this Chatter) INCIDENTILY FOLKES, ..HOORAY TO THOSE THAT RESCUE AND MAKE IT MANDATORY THAT ALL OF OUR ROTT N PRlENDS BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED BEPFORE BEING RELEASED
