A ROTTWEILER IS.........that cold moist nose in the morning,
next a lick across your cheek.
You try to hide in the blanket,
but he thinks it's hide & seek....those sad brown eyes, the ears held back,
the head that's hanging down.
for you raised your voice to scold him
while your face conveyed a frown....that faithful friend that sleeps so close
and watches all the doors.
You needn't worry where he is,
'cause you can always hear his snores....keeping those memories of devotion
that's filled with loyalty...
and always that 'tug at your heartstrings'
from this canine Royalty.

REAL CHAMPIONSShe did it! She did it!!
We heard Patti shout!!
Tasha finally finished!
HEY..did any one doubt? She's delightful and charming,
and she has her CD.
But that 1 point she needed,
Was as hard as could be.We all love dear Patti,
John's miracle comeback,
Diggity, Tash and 2 pups,
and of course there's Mr. Jack.So brag away Patti Fisher
You've paid more than your dues.
Your Spirit has Blessed us all.
We are honored to share your news!!!!Here's 3 cheers to the Fishers
None deserves more than they.
We have all shared their downs
now we join in their HOORAY!!!
Our Pup Chips!
We now have a pup thats insistant,
To eat anything in an instant,
You had better think twice,
You see, nothing is Chip r=resistant!!
for his jaws are a vice.
BILL, BOB AND THE BOOT
Well you've sold me Chips its clear to see,
To let me know what you think of me.
Now since I've had him the money just flows
and he's bit me, pee'd on me, even broke my nose.
Finally this morning Jan yells 'BOB! don't shoot'
For that Gol'. Darned dog just ate my boot!
Oh, I let him live, for he was filled with shame,
and after giving it thought I guess I'm to blame.
Now I love that ol' pup 'cause its plain to see
none in the world could take him from me.
Chips can eat the whole house and I'd love him still!
So I 'give you the boot' to say thank you Bill
BILL'S BIRTHDAY (Bill Lavender OF Boulder House Rottweilers)
'Tis a Birthday wish, so lets give him a hand.
Yes...its for you Bill, so would you please stand.
Take a bow, look around, it's all friends you see,
and there're all here, except for Bob, Chips and me.Make a wish, have your cake, and you can eat it too.
We sincerely hope that this year will be the best for you!
Chips and I, we send our love, Bob says he'll be damn'
before he sends his precious love to any $%^&^%$#@@ ol' man!!Bob says that your cat Velcro should keep you on your toes!
We hear he runs in circles....or so the story goes.
Well Bill, this is just a note, we didn't want to fuss,
thou we had to let you know "YOU MEAN A LOT TO US!!"
BREEDERS?
As each new pup is whelped to life don't let tragedy begin.
Search out for that loving home and let the puppy win.
I know you think you do no wrong but can the truth be known?
The bitch or dog you sold last year is only seen when shown.
What happened to the other pups, the ones sold just as pets?
Are they still alive and well, or simply epithets?
Were they spayed or neutered before you let them go,
or did you want the money to pay for your next show?
"Rottweilers", you proudly say are the dogs you show & breed.
Do you really have a dog that's worthy of his seed?
Does he carry a faulty gene and you breed him just the same,
thats where 'backyard' dogs begin and its those like you to blame!

A ROTTWEILER NAMED BJORN
T'was Dec 1990, when he hobbled through the door.
The doctors and the nurses said, " whats a dog here for ? ""He's here to see his master who's 11 stories up;
he's missed this gentle man who's owned him since a pup."So up the elevator the stoic dog did go.
As they watched the big black dog, they just admired him so.Into the room he proudly strode to meet his masters grin.
Such a bond of dog and man has not been seen since then. Not one that saw the dog that day dared to say a word.
"That dog has but three legs"......Was a whisper overheardHe had lost a leg to cancer so many years ago.
But none stands taller than Bjorn, and Jack who loves him so..

"BUM"The Wolfhound had called for a meeting. All the dogs in Heaven were there
He wanted to announce a newcomer and to tell everyone to prepare."Gather 'round," he said to the crowd. "I have something important to say."
"A long time ago, when I first arrived, I was told I should wait for this day."Legend has it there'd be a great dog, that he'd come from earth down below.
He'd stay with us to eternity and the leadership crown we'd bestow. All the dogs sat and listened in silence, hearts raced with exciting suspense.
Then the Wolfhound related this story while speaking with true reverenceI had a dream about twelve years ago, that this dog was now on his way.
He'd be our leader this side of the bridge and he'd cross on a crisp Spring day. Each Spring I'd sit by the Bridge, not knowing which day he would come.
Get out his crown and a cloud for his nap, for You'll soon meet the dog they called BUM!As the dogs sat 'round listening in awe, a sound from below reached their ears.
Each knew the sound they had all heard before, it was that of a family in tearsAs they waited in sombering silence, the Wolfhound whispered "He's here!"
The puppies all ran to the edge of the Bridge to see the one they had learned to revere. Then a spot in the distance got larger. The Great dog was gaiting with ease.
Bum crossed the Bridge with his head held high and all the dogs just fell to their knees.
Bjorn now waits at the Bridge where the dogs have set up his throne.
When all his friends go to Heaven some day, he'll be there to welcome them home.

MR. CHIP
(video-taped Chip at a bank with note and bag, gun with flag that said bang and then he did a favorite trick of his, called the dead dog drag...Lots of fun!))IT'S A ROTT "N" WORLD,
AND TIMES ARE TOUGH.
HE'S MR. CHIP,
AND HE'S HAD ENOUGH!HIS FOOD BOWL'S EMPTY,
NO TREATS, NO TOYS,
HIS IMAGE'S SHOT.
NO BONES, NO JOYS.SO HE ROBBED A BANK,
HE NEVER HEARD THE GUN!
BUT HE'LL TELL YA THIS,
CRIME AIN'T NO FUN!HE WAS DRAGGED AWAY,
BUT YOU WILL LEARN;
HE'S MR. CHIP,
AND HE WILL RETURN!
CHRISTMAS 1990
(Our Christmas card)Our dogs have put us into debt,
and they've made our house a wreck.
So we saved to buy our cards this year.
But 'CHIPS' ate them, what the heck!We just had to send seasons greetings
to our friends, one and all.
So to wish you a Merry Christmas
We tore the paper from our wall!!
CHRISTMAS 1991
(inside card was little bundle to pines needles tied with a red ribbon)
LAST YEAR IT WAS OUR CHRISTMAS CARDS
THIS YEAR OUR CHRISTMAS TREE
THERE'S BITS OF TREE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE
HE HAD FUN AS YOU CAN SEE!SINCE THERE'LL BE NO PRETTY TREE THIS YEAR
JUST CHIP'S TWIG AGAINST OUR WALL
WE SEND THIS BUNDLE OF CHRISTMAS JOY
TO OUR FRIENDS, ONE AND ALL
FIRST THEY ARE OUR PETS?
(in tribute of the many dogs that died this summer)
As the morning sun began to rise,
excitement filled the air.
the shows were all back to back,
and all the best were there. The handlers and the owners
knew this day'd be very hot.
The alarms were set, their ACs on,
not a thing was left forgot. While at the ring as business called,
a cloak of darkness loomed
For unbeknown to the cheering crowds,
this day would end in doom.Dogs left alone in terror groped
before they finally gasped.
Their fearful fight soon turn to rage
in cages firmly clasped! No one knows the fear and pain
as these dogs breathed their last.
keep this year in your memory,
don't put it in the past. The summer of nineteen ninety three
is the worst I can recall.
Dog shows are meant for joy
not a final curtain call. All for the sake of a ribbon,
these gallant dogs did die.
What price for fame and ego,
it's a shame one can't deny.Where is YOUR pet, that canine friend,
you profess to love so well?
is he right with you at your side,
or in a crate at some hotel?Did you stroke his coat today,
or take him for a walk?
Have you hugged your dog today,
or is it just pure talk? This year we lost so many,
great specimens of the breed.
To get those points above all else,
has this become our creed? To ship our dogs to kingdom come
no matter how hot it gets
and then to proudly say each day
that" FIRST THEY ARE OUR PETS!"

GITTEL (first letter of each line)
Gone are the days when she'd come trotting in. She'd gaze up
with loving eyes for in you she saw no sin.Instead of turning your back on her as so many had before,
(she simply stole your heart away) each day you loved her more. The nights between Bill and you with a pillow for her head,
she'd toss and turn until at last, she'd kick Bill out of bed.The day she earned her C.D. , "Thank God, its done," you sighed.
You put an ad in the Guardian and shared her scores with pride!Everytime you think of her it makes you want to cry, for the
time went by too quickly when she had to say goodbye.Last but not least you say, "My life was nžer the same,
for I shared my life with a Rottie bitch, and GITTEL was her name."

HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand. The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days. But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our Rottweilers,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

BUDDY
One dark and icy winter night
as a truck went speeding by.
A dog was thrown to the street below
Alone and left to die.
Though racked with pain & numb with cold
He tried to lift his head.
He finally moved his aching limbs
Many thought the dog was dead.In pain & scared he limped away
Into the cold dark night
At last he crawled beneath a deck
To end his frightful plight.
The family that lived above him
Reluctantly took him in.
They didn't know he'd be their dog.
That a bond would soon begin.
Seven and a half fleeting years
With love and loyalty shared
Karla Phaneuf & her family
Were the only ones who cared.
And now his walk is slower
His eyes aren't quite as bright
He's too tired to chase the water
He has lost his will to fight.
He's taught his family well these years
That an old dog can be the best.
A "BUDDY' he is, and will ever be
Even after he's layed to rest.
Karla's family has been mighty Blessed
By this 'Buddy' from above.
When he returns to Rainbow bridge
He will leave behind his love.

LET ME TELL YOU WHY
YOU ASK DEAR SIR WHY I WANT THIS PUP
IT'S JUST A PET I'D BUY?
HE'S A ROTTIE, I REPLIED,
GOT A MINUTE AND I'LL TELL YOU WHY.YOU SEE, SIX YEARS AGO I TOOK A DRIVE,
DOWN TO A COUNTRY PARK.
I SAW A DOG WITH SADDENED EYES
AND A COAT THAT WAS QUITE DARK.HIS HEAD WAS HUGE WITH ALMOND EYES,
HIS TAIL WAS JUST A STUMP.
HIS FEET WERE TANNED, SO WAS HIS CHEST
AND A STAR WAS ON HIS RUMP.AS I APPROACHED HE SEEMED TO KNOW
TO HIM I MEANT NO HARM,
FOR HIS STUMP DID TWITCH AND HIS HEAD WENT DOWN
WHILE I POURED ON THE CHARM.WHEN I GOT CLOSE, I FELT A SCAR
THAT RAN RIGHT DOWN HIS SIDE,
THAT THIS GREAT DOG HAD BEEN ABUSED
WAS A FACT YOU COULD NOT HIDE.I COAXED AND COOED AND COAXED SOME MORE,
'TIL I GOT HIM IN THE CAR.
I WAS GOING TO TAKE HIM HOME WITH ME
FOR I DIDN'T LIVE TOO FAR.A ROTTWEILER, I LATER LEARNED,
WAS THE NAME I HEARD THEM SAY.
SIX YEARS OF LOVE HE SHARED WITH ME...
THEN GOD TOOK HIM AWAY.I'LL NOT FORGET THIS FRIEND OF MINE,
I FOUND SO LONG AGO.
MY HEART STILL BREAKS, THE TEARS STILL FLOW,
AND O'GOD I MISS HIM SO.SO IF YOU LET ME BUY THIS PUP,
MY WORD I GIVE TO YOU,
A BETTER FRIEND HE'LL NEVER KNOW
AND AN EMPTY HEART WILL BE ANEW.

MY ONLY CRIME
I didn't know I'd grow this strong,
it's what Man said I'd be.
But now because I am so big,
all life will end for me.I've been good and faithful,
and I'm gentle to all I know.
I didn't mean to defend myself
- do I still have to go????My only crime was to be a Rott,
not a Poodle, Peke or Skye.
I was teased, so I bit back,
and now I have to die.A Chihuahua tried to attack the judge
at Westminster '89,
The crowd just laughed, they thought it cute;
Tell me.... where do they draw the line?

ODE TO ELLI
(10/10/94 - 6/25/96)She was pretty as a picture ...as any Rott could be.
She always loved to learn new things and she loved her family. When she arrived in 94, with joy we gathered åround
To see this brand new baby home, The best we knew wežd found. She seemed a little weary, her flight was not as planned.
The baby bounced from State to State, 2 days our phone was manned. Her name was written LeiZinn, but Elli fit her well.
As she began her life with us, such joy, I cannot tell. She always seemed too wary and never lost her fright,
But as the months flew quickly by her fear turn into fight. We watched this Rottie beauty in a twinkling of an eye
Become a raging animal...that her beauty would belie.Though loving, loyal and willing, we had to let her go
She became too unpredictable...But God...I loved her soWe said farewell today as she climbed into Bobžs lap
With wobbly head, she moved her tongue to give his cheek a tap.She was pretty as a picture, as any Rott could be.
We said goodbye to LeiZinn at 16:43.

Ol' Man & His Rottweiler
T'was An Ol' Man And His Rottweiler,
And Together They Breathed Their Last.
They Found Themselves On The 'Other Side',
It Was Gray And The Land Was Vast.
They Began Their Search For Heaven,
Soon They Heard A Distant Song.
The Words Kept Drawing Them Closer,
Near The Heaven Where They Belonged.
A Tiny Old Man Sat Singing,
As He Motioned To A Giant Gate.
The Ol' Man With His Rottweiler,
Stood In Awe And Could Hardly Wait.
They Approached The Gate In Silence,
The Rottweiler And His Friend.
But A Voice Boomed From Behind The Gate,
"The Rottweiler Can't Come In."
The Ol' Man Didn't Hesitate..
He Spoke With Firm Conviction.
To Leave This Lifetime Faithful Friend,
Would Be The Same As An Eviction!
"I'd Rather Go To Hell," He Said,
"With My Rott Here At My Side,
So Pardon Me If I Withdraw,
My Dog's Love Will Be Justified."
This Little Ol' Man And His Rottweiler,
Chose To Suffer Eternal Wrath.
They Walked 'Till They Came To Another Gate,
And A Man Who Sat In The Path. The Man Looked Up With Eyes Of Steel,
He Ask Where The Two Had Been.
He Said, "At Yonder Gate They Wait,
To Welcome You Two To Come In."The Ol' Man With His Rottweiler,
Sadly Spoke Of Heaven's Rejection.
And How Love Between His Rott And He,
Went Beyond Just Mere Affection."The Steel-Eyed Man Just Chuckled,
And He Said As He Led The Two,
"The Gate Back There Was The Gate To Hell,
Heaven's Waiting For Your Rott And You!"

OUR 2 PUPS or (All I See)
(Elli & Winni)Now our pups can romp together,
For they've grown up big enough
So twice each day we let them play
As long as they aren't rough. We let them out to go outside,
and the 2 can hardly wait.
Each is afraid to get behind,
As they charge on through the gate.I write this just to share a smile,
for a funny sight takes place.
Both pups push against each other,
To see who'll win their race. They run on down the hallway,
And head for the doggy-door.
I wonder what will happen when,
They'll not fit through no more. When that day comes, God forbid,
What EVER will they do
Bob and I will just make bets
To see who will beat out who.But until then, as I write you this
I see as they're on their way.
2 butts pushing against each other,
As they race outside to play.

A ROTT N CHRISTMAS
T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, AND ALL THRU THE LAND,
ROTTS WATCHED FOR CHIP'S WAGON TO GIVE SANTA A HAND.
THERE WERE COW HOOFS, AND RAWHIDE, NEW LEASHES SO STRONG.
BONES, BALLS AND TUG TOYS, DISHES AND KONGS.
WHEN CHIP'S WAGON WAS LOADED, SANTA'S HELPERS YELLED "THANKS!"
AS THE ROTTIE TOOK OFF MIDST ICE & SNOWBANKS.
AS HE PASSED OVER CHINA, HIS WAGON BROKE DOWN,
BUT A HELPFUL GIANT PANDA TOOK HIM ON INTO TOWN.
ON TO EUROPE AND ASIA, CHIP STARTED TO TIRE.
HE WISHED HE WERE HOME NEAR A NICE COZY FIRE.
THE SNOW BECAME BLINDING, HIS EARS NUMBED WITH COLD.
FROST ON HIS LASHES, OH..HOW BRAVE AND SO BOLD!
BUT ROTTIES WERE WAITING FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR,
'THO THE NIGHT WAS SOON ENDING AND DAYLIGHT WAS NEAR.
MR. CHIP HAS INTEGRITY, HE'S MAJESTIC AND ROYAL.
HE HAD FINISHED HIS JOB, FOR A ROTTIE IS LOYAL.
so
IF YOU WAKE CHRISTMAS MORNING TO A ROTT N NEW TOY,
SANTA CHIP PAID A VISIT TO BRING CHRISTMAS JOY.
SO, "MERRY CHRISTMAS ROTTWEILERS WE THINK YOU'RE ALL GREAT!"
"MR. CHIP ? OH..HE'S HOME FAST ASLEEP IN HIS CRATE."

HAVE A ROTT N EASTER DAY!!
Easter time is here once more.
No colored eggs now, that's for sure.
Our Children's grown, we had a lot.
Now we've simply 'gone to Rott'.Our Rottweilers just greet each day,
With yips, and smiles and lots of play.
Perhaps this year we'll give a treat.
A carrot, a bone, or something neat.Every day is special here.
Our Rotties keep us filled with cheer.
"Happy Easter", what's more to say....
Except to you..."have a ROTT N DAY!!"
jan cooper 1995
WE HAVE ROTTWEILERS NOW !
My feet are covered with sores and marks.
My nerves are shattered from sudden barks.
My wallet's empty from paying the Vet,
and those Rotties are eating me into debt.I sit down to rest in my favorite chair
And quick as a flash, the Rotties are there.
They've hauled off my shoes and chewed up my pipe,
But act so damned hurt, if I venture to gripe.I rise in the morning, the new day to greet,
To find a Rottweiler standing firm on my feet.
I trip over another as I'm combing my hair,
While the puppy pulls hard at my underwear. My fresh cup of coffee is now on the rug,
'Cause the bitch gave my arm a sweet playful tug.
I'd pour me another, but sure as can be,
The Rotties would dump it all over me.Please believe me people, it's darn hard to write,
While my hand still hurts from that last loving bite.
The puppy is sneaking up in my lap,
While the one on my feet is down for a nap.So to Hell with home life as it used to be,
And to Hell with quiet evenings with my family,
And to Hell with the money I'd spend anyhow!
Who needs them all......We've got Rottweilers now!!
author unknownTwenty years ago, I found this written about Dobermans (our first love). I modified it to fit our beloved Rottweilers. The author has captured the very essence of owning either one of these magnificent breeds, I only wish he/she could receive the proper credit. All I can say is "Thank you for penning this all time favorite of mine."
A Rott N Christmas Greeting
Is about to come your way,
We've found so many friends,
As we share our thoughts each day. There've been times, though just a few
When we seem to disagree.
But..one theme keeps shining through;
It's the Rottweiler's destiny.This Season is the very best;
It's the time to set aside,
All our vast opposing views,
And for friendships to abideWe need to stand together,
And stop this breed's downfall.
This is my Christmas wish,
And to this I give my all.The NET can be the flagship,
In sharing about this breed.
It can be the missing link,
That so many desire and need.So mirror the Rott's integrity,
In our words and all we do.
And may the year in 96,
Be the best for your Rott N You.
